Connection Method for Pipe Conveyor Support and Rack —— 文章正文2015-12-30

Viewing the product surface, support and rack seems to be fixedly connected; however, green hands involved in belt conveyor plan may not make out the secret. By carefully researching, it can be found that just some of common racks and supports are fixedly connected, and slip connection method may be adopted, because conveyor rack is also of steel layout. Therefore, connection method may differ if the materials of support are different.

For concrete support, due to its high stiffness, it has poor thermal expansion performance and ductility. If the support is connected to both ends of the rack placed over it, forming obvious door-shape layout, the generated stress cannot be released in case of high temperature difference. This will surely exert additional impact on support and rack of steel layout. If slip connection can be adopted for one of connection points on both rack ends, the stress can be immediately released.

Steel support has strong extensibility in thermal expansion. If both ends of conveyor rack are fixedly connected, when temperature stress occurs, rack deformation may probably offset corresponding stress. However for long stiff slabs, if the whole line is connected in such connection method, the deformation of the first support to the last support will be accumulated. Such deformation, if not released, will also result in damage. Will the connection method used for concrete support (i.e. one end is fixed and the other is flexible) be a better choice? The answer is No, because if there are more free ends, the vibration of the line will be a problem.

From the above, the connection method shall be as follows:

1) Use concrete support; make one end fixed and the other flexible

2) Use steel support; connect about 5 rack sections as a whole part; set one free end at one end to release stress;

Note: According to steel layout plan manual, when the length of open temperature section (space between expansion joints) is not more than 120m, effects brought by temperature stress and deformation may not be taken into consideration. If the length is more than 120m, such consideration shall be taken into for metal structure layout.
