I. General
With rapid growth of Chinese economy, curved turning belt conveyor promoted the reform and readjustment of transportation industry. In such industries as metallurgy, mine, electricity, port, chemistry and building material, the following problem needs to be urgently solved, i.e., how to improve output capacity, reduce noise during transportation, improve reliability, shorten distance, eliminate land occupation, and save transportation fees.
Curved belt conveyor is specialized in handling those problems. It is applicable to transfer of underground coal mine and open mine, mining transportation, shipment at port, conveying of supporting materials for hydropower station, and transportation of raw materials for metallurgy, chemical industry, building, and hydropower station.

II. Configuration Principle and Interests
For curved belt conveyor, the inner curve of conveying belt is to be raised in horizontal turning section, namely, idlers at turning section are not horizontally raised at inner side, and idlers at both sides are set by inclining forwards to allow the conveyor to generate an outward centrifugal force to offset the centripetal component force in delivery tension caused by turning, so as to ensure that the conveyer belt can operate normally. This kind of conveyor can make the belt naturally turn, and avoid using specially laid conveyor belt.
By using curved belt conveyor, the traveling route can be laid along trend, and turned horizontally and vertically (the radius of turning circle is less than 150m. Five bends with the radius being 300m can be set on one belt) to bypass barriers or unfavorable sections and minimize intermediate transfer station. This brings the follows advantages:

Reduce transfer points, and improve silence and reliability of the system.
